Come join the Chilliwack Ringette Association at 1:30 – 2:30 PM  on Saturday, May 28 for a FUN FREE day at the rink trying out the SPORT that we all love – RINGETTE!

Join us at the Sardis Sports Centre Rink 3, strap on some skates, grab a stick and a ring, and try out the fastest game on ice! This free event is open to everyone ages 5+. Beginner skaters are welcome and encouraged to attend! 

What you need to bring:

  • Warm clothes including gloves and jacket

  • REQUIRED: Skates and a helmet

  • Recommended: Protective padding such as elbow and knee pads

Pre-Registration for the event is required. Register Below!

The third Date Night Around Chilliwack we are highlighting is a great excuse to head outdoors and enjoy a little physical activity, some great food and a few laughs along the way. Cheam Mountain Golf Course offers the perfect location for beginner to advanced golfers. Grab a cart or walk this luscious green course, rent some clubs if you need to and enjoy a quick round on this par 56 Par 3 course. You’ll be able to admire the beauty of the Fraser Valley and enjoy some quiet time out amongst the fields of Chilliwack.

The Wack: 12-8pm

Following your round of golf, head back to the clubhouse and enjoy some amazing and unique dishes on the patio looking over the 18th hole of the course. We highly recommend trying out their wings, classic poutine and their fresh baked deep dish cookie with ice cream and caramel. Don’t forget to grab a cold drink after your round.

On Sundays for the next few weeks, they’ll be featuring a local musician from 3-6pm on the patio to make that date night even more special.

Frankie’s and Major League 2 Taphouse and Sports Bar have fantastic happy hour specials. They basically share a parking lot off 7350 Vedder Road so it makes visiting both spots very easy and efficient. A date night of visiting one, the other or both is bound to end up in a great time!

Saccomaniacs Agriculture for Autism has fundraised for PAFN since 2014, with the Chilliwack spoke opening in 2020. Since 2020 hundreds of children and families have received FREE resources for children and families living on the autism spectrum.

Resources include guidance in getting diagnosed, navigating the systems to seek support, help, information and resources, and hands on programs. 

PAFN hub is designed to meet the unique needs of individuals with ASD and their families, while also providing an open, unique and collaborative environment for autism service providers, organizations, clinicians and researchers.

People have loved our 10 Trail Challenges. This Spring we decided to make them Fido-friendly so that dog lovers can include their best friends on their adventures. 

Ready? If you love dogs, coffee and the great outdoors, then this one’s for you! 

The 10 Trail Challenge: Dogs & Coffee combines dog-friendly fun, coffee + fresh air activities in BC’s beautiful Fraser Valley that’ll have you making memories to last a lifetime in 2022.

Note: Don’t live in the Fraser Valley? Don’t fret! We’ve created a virtual version of this Challenge too so that you and your pup can participate from anywhere in the world!
Here’s how it works:
Over the course of 10-weeks, participants will follow the Challenge guide to walk, run or hike 10 local routes and trails with friends, family and Fido.

The Chilliwack Cultural Centre has cancelled all events and classes until November 22. 

The Chilliwack Cultural Centre has cancelled all events and classes up to November 22 due to the extreme circumstances facing the area right now. Ticket holders and class patrons will be notified by our Centre Box Office with updated information. 

We will be here to assist the City of Chilliwack as needed. Our top priority as always is the safety of all patrons, performers, volunteers and staff.

The Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society continuously strives to provide the community with a place to be immersed in the arts and culture. With the constantly changing environment of a COVID-19 world, The Society is working hard at keeping pace and making sure that The Centre is following all recommendations, policies, and orders laid out by Fraser Valley Health Authority, the Provincial Health Officer, the Province of B.C., and the Government of Canada.  Face masks are once again required in all public indoor spaces, so you will be required to wear one while inside the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.

Learn about the untold stories of Chilliwack's creative economy. The 7th annual PechaKucha event is being held online this year and will feature local speakers each with a unique story to tell delivered in a very unique format.

This years event was another amazing showcase of the local talent, passion and creativity that’s in Chilliwack. The 8 speakers brought unique stories of the work they do to better our community.

We have had the pleasure of not only attending but taking photos during the live presentation of this years event. This is the 7th year that Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation has put on this event and it keeps getting better and better. It all wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the outstanding work done by Tim McAlpine in his studio located at Cowork Chilliwack.

The holiday season is fast approaching and, after nearly two full years away from the stage, beloved British comedy duo James and Jamesy are back with O Christmas Tea. Whether it’s with friends, family, loved ones, or on your own, an evening spent in the theatre with James and Jamesy is sure to be an evening you will never forget.

O Christmas Tea is a rollicking holiday spectacular that’s ideal for fans of Monty Python, Mr. Bean, and Dr. Seuss. James and Jamesy have delighted audiences for decades with their unique take on traditional British comedy and they’re excited to make their eagerly awaited return to the stages. 

“After 20 months away from the stage, we are beside ourselves --  both literally and metaphorically -- to be reunited with our audiences, many of whom have become like extended family over the festive season, and to again feel the buzz that only the magic of live theatre can bring,” explained Aaron Malkin (James), the taller, less-hirsute half of the award-winning duo.

The time away, due to pandemic restrictions on live entertainment, has reinforced not only the passion the duo has for its shows, but also the importance that humour plays in our lives.

Creative Catalysts for Change - PechaKucha Chilliwack

Learn about the untold stories of Chilliwack's creative economy. The 7th annual PechaKucha event is being held online this year and will feature local speakers each with a unique story to tell delivered in a very unique format.

PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where you show 20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically and you talk along to the images.

It will be fast-paced, insightful and inspirational and the members of the Chilliwack Creative Commission would like to invite you to attend. Please reserve your spot today. We'll send you a link where you can tune in on Thursday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m.

The fourth stop on our tour is Puratos Canada.

West River Farm Ltd. is a family owned dairy farm business in Rosedale, BC, operated by Grant, Gene & Sarah Sache. The farm is an average sized BC dairy farm, milking 150 Holstein cows. The Saches adopted robotic milking technology in 2015 to replace the aging double 5 parlour their parents installed in the 1970s. The farm team takes great care to grow and store quality local forage crops to fuel healthy, productive, home-grown cows, shipping over 2,000,000 litres of fresh BC milk per year.

Oakridge Poultry is a first-generation free-range egg farm in East Chilliwack that is owned and operated by Kevin and Rebecca Herfst and their children Melissa and Steve. Eggs are sold under the brand “Country Golden Yolks” and are available in grocery stores throughout BC.

Experience an evening of passion, power, and beauty with Ballet Jörgen!

Creativity, dedication and artistry reach new heights as renowned Canada’s Ballet Jörgen returns to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre with Creations In Isolation on October 10! CBJ takes to the stage with an enchanting mixed programme that will showcase excerpts from major classical ballets as well as exciting new contemporary works. With pieces from Romeo & Juliet, The Nutcracker and Anne of Green Gables – The Ballet®, you won’t get a chance to see such a repertoire anywhere else!

“We are so pleased to bring you Creations in Isolation at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre,” says CBJ’s Artistic Director, Bengt Jörgen. “While we are very proud of the work we have done to deliver programming digitally for the past year we know it will never replace the experience of a live performance. We are excited to be back on stage with our community in Chilliwack!”  

Inspired by the perseverance shown by CBJ’s dancers and choreographers in the face of lockdown, Creations in Isolation is a wonderous performance built on the dancers and choreographers working virtually from home. While the COVID-19 pandemic created many challenges, it also sparked a new artistic approach for those at CBJ, pushing them to bring their own creativity to the forefront and explore new ideas that they otherwise wouldn’t have considered. 

“Working virtually with Canada’s Ballet Jörgen’s dancers was such an uplifting experience,” explains resident CBJ choreographer Hanna Kiel. “It doesn’t matter if they are rehearsing in their living room or dance studio these artists are so positive and happy to be dancing. COVID gave us many challenges, especially in the dance world, but I feel in some ways it has raised our spirits higher and showed us how important it is to keep creating and dancing in this difficult time. I feel the dancers’ excitement in every rehearsal and this really inspired me to stay strong.”

Canada’s Ballet Jörgen has become a staple within Chilliwack’s art community with their vibrant and inspiring performances, and workshops. Creations in Isolation is set to welcome you back into the world of dance with a program that will showcase exceptional ballets that were all created exclusively for CBJ, by Canadian and Canada based choreographers. Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to see just how far these performers have reached and let them sweep you up into the magic of an unforgettable program that you won’t soon forget.

With the constantly changing environment of a COVID-19 world, The Society strives towards keeping pace and making sure The Centre is functioning at the highest level of safety protocols, while also keeping the arts alive.
