Chilliwack Museum & Historical 5th annual Hops & Heritage Fundraiser
The Chilliwack Museum & Historical society is preparing to host our 5th annual Hops & Heritage Fundraiser!
Hops & Heritage is primarily an awareness and engagement campaign that aims to connect the Chilliwack Museum & Archives with the community, and to support local businesses at the same time.
“Hops & Heritage focuses on the local craft brewing and hops industry in Chilliwack, and how this industry has played an important role in the development of our economy, identity, and heritage”, says, Shawna Dwyer, Executive Director, “this year marks the fifth anniversary of this event and we are excited for the community to see what we have put together!”
“The event will take place on the grounds of the Chilliwack Museum located at 45820 Spadina Avenue on June 8, 2024 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm” adds Jessica Hrycyk, Administrative Coordinator, “join us for a day of craft beer, live music, food trucks, farmer’s market, door prizes, raffles, and more!”
The event will feature a beer garden with four local breweries, Bricklayer Brewing Co., Farmhouse Brewing Co., Field House Brewing Co., and Flashback Brewing Co., plus Lake Bottom Cider for those non- beer drinkers! Additionally, there will be live music from Jada Leroux, Tyla Jones, and Kyler Pierce, a Farmer’s Market featuring 10 local vendors, food from The Crazy Gringo, Planet of the Crepes, Frankly Delicious Ice Cream, trivia with James Copeland, Bingo with Hayley Adler, select panels from The Hops Connection: From Industry Gold to Lasting Legacy and more!

“This year we have added a kid’s zone to the event for families to have some fun!” says Sarah Belley,
Education & Engagement Coordinator, “a few planned activities include a family-oriented scavenger hunt, crafts, and face painting.”
Hops & Heritage will also serve as the last day to view the CM&A’s two feature exhibitions, Our Journey for Inclusion: 70 Years of Innovation and Woven Together: Chilliwack Spinners and Weavers.
Admission to the launch event is $10 in advance/$15 at the door (CMHS Members) or $15 in advance/$20 at the door (General Public). One drink ticket is included in the admission and additional drink tickets will be 1 for $5, 3 for $12 or 5 for $18.
This year’s grand prize raffle prize is a Two Night, Mid-Week Stay in a Premium Cabin at Manning Park Resort + 2 Alpine Season Passes OR 1 Alpine Season Pass (Value $3,500) donated by Manning Park Resort! Additional raffle prizes include a BOND Propane Patio Heater + Propane Tank + $100 Gift Card to Fraser Valley Meats (valued at $500) donated by Fortin’s Home Hardware and Precision Building Design Associates Ltd. and a Variety Supplement Bag (valued at $450) donated by Popeye’s Supplements. Raffle tickets are 1 for $5, 3 for $25, or 5 for $20. The raffle draw will take place at 7:00pm on June 24, and winners must be present to collect their prize.
Funds raised from this event will be used to support the rebranding of the Chilliwack Museum & Archives! This comprehensive project has been awarded to Ion Brand Design and will be complete by the Fall of 2024.
