BC Egg Fest 2019 - BBQ Food Festival

The 3rd Annual BC EggFest is a day of BBQ tasting with live entertainment, axe throwing, a beer garden and MORE!

May 26, 2019, located at GP Home Furniture & Appliances in CHILLIWACK, BC (map below).

Around Chilliwack will be on site as one of the many cook teams. We love BBQ and can’t wait to cook up something extra delicious this year!

What is an Egg Fest?

An “Egg Fest” may sound strange at first…but the Big Green Egg is a specialized ceramic charcoal grill with amazing bbq capabilities - from apple pie, to pizza, to ribs, it can do everything!

The BC Egg Fest is an event all about the Big Green Egg (BGE) BBQ & Smoker, with experienced cooks from across the province.  The cooks will be showcasing their skills and talents while preparing their speciality recipes ALL DAY LONG on Big Green Eggs. Non-cooks (Tasters) can stroll around the facility to sample and experience the wonderful "Egged" BBQ food while watching EGGsperts cook to perfection a wide variety of food.

Whether you have a Big Green Egg or not, anyone with an appetite and a love for GREAT BBQ is invited to come out and "Taste" what our Cook Teams have in store! Join together with family and friends to enjoy great food fresh off the grill!

BC Egg Fest Schedule of Events:

9:00 - 10:00 AM - Cooks sign in and set up
11:00 AM - Let the BC Egg Fest begin!!!   Food will be available all day. Wander from egg to egg to sample foods and discuss recipes and techniques with the cooks. After the conclusion of the Eggfest, some of the recipes from the cooks will be posted at bceggfest.com for free download. Eggs will be shut down at 3:00 to allow for sufficient cooling time
3:30 PM - Raffle draw
4:00 - 5:00 PM - Pick up Demo Eggs - All eggs MUST be picked up by 5:00 PM!

Well-known for their friendly and helpful staff, The Book Man is animal friendly to leashed pets. They have had cats, a ferret, dogs, cockatiels, parrots, snakes, lizards, a rat and even a miniature horse visit their store!
Please be courteous to their leashed-pet rules as they do have Nietzsche, the book store cat, roaming freely in his home.

CSCL Chilly Wackers Versus Boston Bruins Alumni Game

On February 23rd 2019, Chilliwack Society for Community Living (CSCL) put on a great sporting affair. The CSCL Chilly Wackers took on the Boston Bruins Alumni team; a team that features Bruins greats like Ray Bourque, Al Iafrate, Joe Mullen and more, all in support of CSCL’s fundraiser.

We at Around Chilliwack had a chance to tag along with the Chilly Wackers to get a look at the game from behind the scenes. Seeing so many people collaborating for such an important community organization was enough to lift anyones spirts. The hockey game was a great excuse to bring so many of Chilliwack’s amazing people together, and a lot of fun to witness the passion of our local hockey spirit.
